At Retro Luxe, we take authenticity seriously.
Every item we sell is carefully reviewed before being listed, with attention given to its materials, construction, branding, hardware, markings and overall characteristics.
Our Approach
We assess each item using the information and physical characteristics available to us, including:
- Brand-specific details and construction
- Materials, stitching and hardware
- Logos, stamps, labels and serial or date markings where applicable
- Overall condition and signs of previous use
- Comparison with known characteristics of genuine examples
Where appropriate, we may use additional research or specialist knowledge to support our assessment.
Pre-Loved & Vintage Items
Many of our items are pre-loved, vintage or from older collections. As a result, details such as materials, hardware, labels, markings and manufacturing techniques can vary between production periods, countries and models.
The absence of a particular marking or feature does not automatically indicate that an item is not genuine.
We therefore assess each item in the context of its specific brand, model and era rather than relying on a single characteristic.

We do not knowingly sell counterfeit items.

If an item were found to be counterfeit or materially misrepresented, this would be treated in accordance with our legal obligations and our Returns & Refunds policy.
Please note that authentication is an assessment based on the available evidence and information. We cannot guarantee that every brand or item can be authenticated with absolute certainty where definitive verification is not possible.
